Around the world and back again.
If any of you know me, you know that I love to travel. It has become one of the most important things in my life. It's hard to explain, but the more I see, the less I really know and the more I need to see. I think it is really healthy for a few reasons. It helps you appreciate what you do have and your own culture, It relaxes you and opens your eyes to new and exciting experiences, it makes you more aware of how the world works as a whole, and you meet new friends and get to see different geography and architecture than what you're used to. I hope to travel as much as I possibly can in my lifetime. Some amazing places I've been: Mexico, Uganda, England, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Brazil. I hope to go many many more. All these places have taught me really important things about the world and also myself. My favorite so far has been Jamaica. I was blown away by the beauty of the place, the people were amazing, and just the way of life in general is so silly that it's enjoyable. Most of all, I met my soul mate Simon there :) He's the love of my life so Jamaica will always hold such a special place in my heart. Where is the best place you've traveled been? Even if it's somewhere in your back neighborhood or a far away country, and why?

My thumbs are green
Today, I write about my garden! This is super exciting for me because it's something I've never tried. So far I am having a lot of success (a lot of thanks to my fiance, Simon) We have taken a lot of special care of our garden this spring and summer. We have a floral garden that is flourishing on the front of our yard with mint, sunflowers, iris, hens and chickens, sage, rosemary, agapanthas, lilies, poppy, and succulents. On the side yard, Roses, lily, Tulips, sunflowers. In the vegetable garden; pumpkin, squash, carrots, onion, peas, beans, corn, potato, and more mint. I have to say this is one of the most exciting things I've done in a while. Everything is growing really well so far and looks amazing! It's a really fun hobby and I think I'll stick with it for years to come. It's relaxing, Gives Simon and I something to bond over, refreshing, pretty, and in a couple months we'll have home grown food to eat!

SPF (smells pretty fantastic)
I FREAKING LOVE the smell of sunscreen. I love it so much. I wear it as lotion, I put a dab of it under my nose to cheer me up, I could eat it if it was edible. It is by far my favorite smell in the world. I think what draws me too it so much is that it is an instant flashback of me doing something fun. Sunscreen directly ties my memory to me being outside for prolonged time periods. (camping, beaches, vacation, skiing, snowboarding, boating, swimming...) The flashback I get the most is of being a little kid at the beach playing with my sister in California. I instantly get my mood uplifted when I smell it. Also, it is a good idea to always have it. It keeps you looking young, the harmful rays away, and you don't end up looking like a lobster when playing in the sun.
What is your favorite smell? And what does it remind you of? Any specific memory?

70wpm
So I am a really fast typist. Sometimes so fast, that I start to type the next word I'm thinking of before I've finished the last. I tend to do things really well with hand-eye coordination like typing, Tetris, playing the piano, anything along those lines. Sometimes at night before I go to sleep I play tetris in my head or imagine a big keyboard and type what I'm thinking. Yes, I am a very complex creature. The thing is, I really enjoy typing, but I hate sitting at a desk all day, I need some type of system to where I have to walk on a treadmill to make my keyboard work haha.
As much as I appreciate grammar and enjoy typing, there are a few words I can never get right: "guarantee", "confirmation" always comes out "confirmatino", I can't ever get "with" to not come out "withe".
But everyone should do this when they have some spare time (if your a big time left-brained weirdo like me)

A lot to say about nothing.
Ok, so I've done it! Joined the Blog bandwagon. I enjoy reading blogs so much and I think that I am one of the most interesting people in the world and love to hear my own thoughts. So here it is, but I must warn any of you who read this. It will be filled with a lot of mindless chatter, pointless information, and silliness.
So first off, I might as well explain the title of my blog. I happen to be a very "selective eater" (picky, finicky, powerful taste buds, whatever you want to call it)
Hating pickles happens to be one of my favorite past times. I hate them with so much passion. I can't explain why, just something about a vegetable left to ferment in vinegar doesn't appeal to me. Especially when it is placed on hot food like a hamburger! GROSS.
There are many foods that I don't agree with. For example; Turkey, cantaloupe, rootbeer floats, cooked pineapple, cooked peppers, and a bunch of other stuff I can't make up my mind if I like it or not.
I promise I won't always be negative and rant about what I don't like, but this is what's on my mind right now.
Ta ta.
